The Ingham clinic is overseen by Tropical Vets Director Dr. Callan Solari, and is one of the largest clinics amongst the Tropical Vets group.
The Ingham team are dynamic, friendly and great fun to be around.
The Team
Callan graduated from James Cook University in 2012, where he received an academic medal. He also received the prestigious Don Kerr Memorial Award in 2013 – awarded to one graduate in Australia for excellence in Cattle Medicine.
Growing up in Ingham and Charters Towers on family cattle properties, Callan is a North Queensland local. He has a wide variety of veterinary interests, particularly all things beef cattle and cattle reproduction. In his spare time, Callan enjoys spending time with his young family and developing his Brahman stud herd.
Growing up in Cairns, Kelly graduated from James Cook University in 2012. She is very interested in working in mixed practice and works with us in Ingham due to the variety of animals that are in the area.
Lara joined the Tropical Vets team in early 2024. Hailing from the sunny west coast, Lara completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Murdoch University, and felt the pull for adventure and new experiences, leading her to tropical North Queensland. Swapping the dry heat of WA for the rainforests and humidity, Lara has immersed herself in everything this region has to offer. From taking the boat out to the local islands or to the Great Barrier reef, the fishing and snorkeling has kept her and her partner Jack busy! Accompanied by her spirited cattle dog puppy Kipper, Lara had seamlessly integrated into our team. She is enthusiastic about all aspects of veterinary medicine, especially tricky medicine cases and equine medicine.
Dr. Lauren originates from Victoria, where she completed a science degree in marine biology and zoology before moving north to study Vet Science at UQ.
Lauren graduated in 2015, and has been working in mixed practice ever since. The last four years have been spent running her own mobile vet service in the Western Downs before making the move to Ingham in April 2023 to join Tropical Vets.
Lauren loves all aspect of mixed practice, but in particular small animal medicine and cattle work. When not at work you’ll find her exploring far North Queensland with her young family and spending time with her two crazy kelpies, Morella and Olive.
Dr Lauren is an Ingham local who graduated from JCU in 2015. After working away for a year she returned to join the Ingham team. She has a keen interest in small animal ultrasonography and soft tissue surgery. In her spare time you will find Lauren spending time with her young family and her Burmese cat Elton as well as gardening and sewing.
Maxine grew up in Ingham and, from as far back as she can remember, always wanted to be a vet. Graduating from James Cook University in 2013, she spent five and a half years at a wonderful clinic in Mackay before moving back to Ingham.
Maxine loves being a vet - especially when she gets to meet so many animals each day and getting to spend my days filled with them! Her particular interest is all things 'small animals' - particularly small animal medicine and opthalmology. She has a cat named Lilly and in her spare time loves spending time with family and friends.
Micaela joined the Ingham Tropical Vets team earlier this year after graduating from uni in Townsville.
Growing up near the beautiful Daintree has left Micaela with a passion for the outdoors including hiking, camping and exploring the local area.
Having always owned and competed horses, Micaela has a keen interest in large animals and hopes to continue competing this year on her horse, Hotshot.
Micaela has two dogs, Bear and Shino, and looks forward to meeting and caring for your fur babies!
