Tropical Vets is a mixed-animal veterinary practice with experience in treating a broad range of animals, both large and small, for the Tully community and surrounding regions.
The Team
Brittany graduated from James Cook University with her Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 2016. She has always been interested in mixed practice (large and small animal work) - particularly equine work. Once graduated, Brittany took a position as a vet in Longreach, before moving to Tully and joining the Tropical Vets team in 2023.
Growing up in Rockhampton, Hannah always had a variety of family pets and a fascination with animals of all shapes and sizes.
She always knew she wanted to work with animals, which led her to study veterinary science at JCU in Townsville, graduating in 2018 with an academic medal, small animal medicine award and a clinical competency award. It was also where she fell in love with the tropical NQ lifestyle and was excited to be staying up North to work at the Tully clinic!
Hannah enjoys all challenges of mixed practice, with a particular interest in soft tissue surgery, small animal medicine, and everything exotics and wildlife.
Outside the clinic, Hannah is kept busy by her fur babies "Lilo" and "Stich" and also enjoys playing piano, going out to the reef spearfishing with her partner, and swimming/cycling/running.

More about the area
Tully is known as one of the wettest towns in Australia, and has a giant gumboot to commemorate its highest rainfall year -- a massive 7.9m of rain which was recorded in the 1950s. With all the rain comes some remarkable rainforest scenery, as well as beautiful walking tracks, waterfalls and swimming holes. Just 15 minutes drive from the iconic Mission Beach area, there's no lack of amazing places to visit. As well as the stunning location, this area is home to some unique fauna, including the Southern Cassowary.
